Description
British elegance with a modern twist
What happens when you combine a modern steel blue palate with a classic herringbone finish? You get a suit that nods to classic British styling that exudes elegance in all situations. Successor is a no holds barred power suit that manages to not overdo it. Quite a trick that will certainly have people turning heads and give you a suit that can be dressed down for the office or dressed up for a buttoned-up wedding.
Styling Guide
Shirt
Simple whites will work great and is our general preference for this style. Pinks and powder blues may also work but try not to overdo it with patterns and checks to ensure that the herringbone finish is the star of the show.
Tie
There are two approaches that we think would work well. Solid block ties will work well to keep things formal, though we would not recommend black unless you’re wearing black shoes to balance it out. Beyond that, something with a classic pattern such as a paisley that has cues that follow the colour of the suit will maintain the nod to the old world but will also come off a little less formal. This may not be a bad thing.
Shoes
The default for this would be a dark brown or oxblood however this would also work with black shoes for a more formal look provided that your tie choice is just as formal.
OCCASION
If you want something that looks formal but you’re sick of the normal block navies and charcoals, Successor provides a unique option that doesn’t come off as being too much. If you wanted a suit that’s a little more formal for your wedding but not as formal as a tuxedo, this is a great choice that shines through but will also give you some versatility after the fact. Consider a three-piece if you really want to lean in on the classic British styling.
